This Privacy Policy explains how the Faves mobile app (“Faves”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the app. Faves is operated by Ethan Hollins. By using Faves, you agree to the practices described here.
We collect only what we need to run the app:
When you scan a menu or a receipt, the photo is sent securely to our AI provider, Anthropic (Claude), which reads the text in the image and returns the list of dishes and prices. We use Anthropic’s business API; under their terms, your images and text submitted through this API are not used to train their AI models. Photos and the extracted data are stored in your account so you can see your ratings later.
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with the service providers that help us operate Faves, and only as needed to run the app:
We may also share information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the app.
Faves has social features. Your username, profile photo, the dishes and restaurants you rate, your star ratings, and your reviews may be visible to other people in the app. Please keep this in mind when deciding what to post.
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal information and content, except where we need to keep limited records to comply with the law or resolve disputes. See How to delete your account & data.
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections and secure, access-controlled storage. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data and to address any issues promptly.
Faves is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Faves is operated from the United States. If you use the app from outside the U.S., your information will be processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Effective date” above and, for significant changes, notify you in the app. Your continued use of Faves after an update means you accept the revised policy.
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Faves mobile app. By downloading, accessing, or using Faves, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Faves. By using the app, you confirm that you meet this requirement and that the information you give us is accurate.
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity that happens under your account. Let us know promptly if you believe your account has been used without your permission.
You keep ownership of the photos, ratings, and reviews you create (“your content”). By posting it, you grant Faves a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, display, and use your content as needed to operate and improve the app, including showing it to other users where that is part of a feature you used. You are responsible for the content you post and confirm you have the right to post it.

We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these Terms.
Faves uses AI to read menus and receipts. AI can make mistakes — extracted dish names, prices, and restaurant matches may be incomplete or inaccurate. Please double-check anything important. These features are provided for convenience and without any guarantee of accuracy.
Faves relies on third-party services (such as Supabase, Anthropic, Google, Apple, and Expo). Your use of the app may also be subject to their terms. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.
The Faves app, its name, logo, design, and software are owned by us and protected by law. These Terms do not give you any right to use our branding without permission.
You may stop using Faves and delete your account at any time (see How to delete your account & data). We may suspend or end your access if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the app.
Faves is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent allowed by law. We do not guarantee the app will always be available, error-free, or accurate.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Faves and its operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data or profits, arising from your use of the app.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will change the “Effective date” above, and for significant changes we will notify you in the app. Continuing to use Faves after an update means you accept the new Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
You can delete your Faves account and the personal data associated with it at any time:
When you delete your account, we remove your profile, ratings, reviews, and uploaded photos. We may keep limited records only where the law requires it.
